Track Record
In her first term, Councilwoman Toppi sponsored more than 20 improvements to Smithfield's government and quality of town life, which include:

Created a working group to clean up and update all town ordinances

Enacted zoning ordinances that prohibit: large scale solar farms in residential areas, battery storage facilities, and wind energy facilities (wind turbines)

Placed 800 acres in a RI Public Trust

Mandated public comment at all public board and commission meetings

Prohibited cannabis use on town property

Amended ordinance to tighten requirements for tax stabilization agreements
